Frontpage Default Fonts

Charlotte

I have just recently finished creating a webpage and I am
finding problems with the fonts I have used.
I changed all of the fonts to Default Window Fonts
throughout my webpage, ie.. Lucida Handwriting, Arial
Black and Verdana - these are the only three fonts I used.
The problem is, if I bring up the web page on any other
computer, other than my own, some of the fonts change.
I can not understand why this is happening, is this going
to create a problem for people viewing our page?
I have not uploaded the webpage from Frontpage as of yet
as I wanted to know how this will affect those viewing our
website.
Do you have any suggestions as to why this happens or how
this can be rectified?

Very simple reason, the other PC's don't have the fonts you have selected.

That's the problem, the other computers do have those
fonts listed within the font folder.
Anyway, based on that information that you gave me, the
only font that should create a problem for viewing would
be Lucida Handwriting as it was not one of the fonts
listed. - If I change this font should everything show as
I expect it to??

How are you specifying the fonts?

The fonts are located on my hard drive and everyone elses
under the window folder\fonts.
I specified the fonts through Frontpage by highlighting
everything I wanted to be in that font, changed the font
type to whatever font it was ie...Verdana and saved the
page once I did this. - So is Lucida Handwriting not
supported as a Microsoft Default Font??

Lucida ".etc." is not a default font Windows font, it is installed with
Office and some of the individual Office application. All Windows font,
under all versions of Windows should be in a folder called "fonts".

Default fonts are those installed by the Operating System, such as
Windows/IE, Apple, Unix, etc.

What is the HTML code for the fonts you are specifying?

Charlotte,

According to MS, the Lucida Console font is supplied with Windows 98, 98 SE,
NT Wrkst, XP, however the installation of any particular font may be
dependent on the installation options selected.

However, what about Mac, Sun and Unix/Linux users?
