Email Picutres Dialog Box Does Not Show

Melisa

When I try to email a picture through the My Pictures
Folder, the email dialog box (asking if I want to
compress the file) does not come up. The file goes
straight to Outlook as an attachment. I'm running WinXP
Home on a brand new computer.

Does Microsof Outlook 2002 automatically compress the
image? Do I need to worry about the XP dialog box? If I
compress the image manually, how do I do it?

Thank you.

Try this:
(it may restore your resize option)

go to...Start / Run and type:

"REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL"
(without the quotes)(Yes, there's
a space between 2 and S)

Click...OK.

Also...

There is a free PowerToy called
ImageResizer...you can download it at
the following link:

http://tinyurl.com/36n

After it's installed, you can open any folder
that contains images and you will have an
option to resize. Just right click the selected
image files and choose Resize Pictures.
You can select one image or a whole group.

The program will place the resized copies in
the folder with your originals.

BTW...when resizing if you go to...Advanced
Button / Custom...and enter 640 in each field...
that will be a good size for e-mail purposes.

Select Start,Run and then type the following:

regsvr32 shimgvw.dll

It can be in upper or lower case and should correct your
problem.

Marc.
