Email From My Pictures

In My Pictures I can select a pictue to email and select "Email this file"
and the window opens offering to reduce the file size or not. After this
option is chosen-to reduce-the new Email opens with the picture attachment
-no size given- in the subject line but none of the task bar buttons will
work and the contact address book will not open.
What do I need to do to make this option work? Thanks
