Email disappeared after accessing from home

A colleague has connected to his work exchange account from home over the VPN
and downloaded all of his email to his home laptop. This morning when he open
Outlook his inbox was empty apart from email that had been sent after he
accessed his account from home. All of the messages which he had placed in
folders were still intact, along with sent messages and drafts.

Is there an easy way to recover these old emails that were were stored in
his inbox from the exchange server? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Simon

Based on the description, I would guess that your colleague connected to his
work account via POP3 or Exchange but had a PST file set as the default
location. All that has to be done is to copy the messages from the .PST
located on his home computer back to the Exchange mailbox.
