Electric Shock Sound when Accessing Web Sites

Amy Armstrong

I'm using IE 6.0 on an IBM ThinkPad running Windows 2000.
I have an ethernet connection to my schools internet.
Everything works fine untill I access certain web sites,
at which time the PC emits a noise like an electric shock
and nothing else happens. For instance, I can access
yahoo fine. However, when I enter "www.atlantis.com", the
home page is displayed and the electric shock noise
sounds. When I select "Enter", the elec shock noise
repeats, but I'm not able to enter that website.

Appreciate any help you can offer.

Thank you,
Amy

Do you have the Macromedia Flash 6 plugin installed that the site's opening
page says it needs? The sound you are hearing might be some sort of warning
they built in to get your attention to the requirement. When I open it the
home page only stays up for a fraction of a second and two other windows
open on their own (and that is enough to make me hate the creators and avoid
whatever it is they are trying to sell me).
