Printer settings for Web Sites

When I try to print from a Web site, the right side of the page (1/2 to 3/4
inch) does not print. It also is missing in Print Preview.
I'm using XP Pro, IE 6.0, Pentium 4, 512 MB RAM, HP 8400 Photosmart Printer,
and DSL connection. I can print e-mails, pictures, documentsd, spreadsheets,
etc. The problem is input from web pages. Examples: Electric bill from local
utility; Credit Report from Experion.
I've spent several hours chatting and phone assist with techs from HP and
Microsoft with the final decision being I have a problem with IE 6.0 and they
don't know how to change it.
Any suggestions?

Hi stepdaddy :)

This problem with some Webpages is caused by the coding on the site. Try
choosing a smaller text size at View>Text Size. If that does not allow all
the text to print on the page you will have to change the page orientation
to Landscape to print.

also.

If there is a Printable version link at the bottom or somewhere on the page
try printing from that.

Hope this helps.

Hi,
IE has had this problem for a while. In addition to Jan's suggestions...

If changing the text size doesn't work, try this freeware program from
http://www.visiontech.ltd.uk/software/

Internet Explorer Fitted-Width Printing

Have you ever printed a web page only to find that the right-hand edge is
missing? This is for you. First, this download page will install the
control. After installation, close the browser window and reopen a new one.
You should have a new printer icon with a small 'W' next to it on the
toolbar. Press this to bring up a print dialog which will then print the
page fitted to the width of your paper. Alternatively, hold down the Control
key while pressing the button and you will get a print preview instead.

Note: After downloading this ActiveX Object (into Downloaded Program Files)
you may have to go to IE> View> Toolbars> Customize to find and display the
icon.

Hope this helps,
Don

Hi,
Yep... that was my impression the first time I visited the site. But once
you clicked on"Internet Explorer Fitted-Width Printing " an ActiveX object
should have been placed in Downloaded Program Files. Close all IE windows
then try IE> View> Toolbars> Customize. Find a "Fit Width Print" button in
the left pane and add it to Current Toolbar Buttons.
