Is there a freeware program that will enable me to edit .pdf file (Adobe
Acrobate Reader) files??

I am constantly getting emailed .pdf forms... but because I can't edit them,
I am stuck printing them out, handing write in the answers and then faxing
it back. This seems nuts.

If there is an easy way to edit .pdf files, PLEASE let me know. Thanks a
bunch in advance!

:)

hello,

I don't think there is anything to edit them, that's the part of the program
you have to pay for. You could always use Kazaa and put in Acrobat.

I am positive that PDF is there so it wouldn't be opened to change...

Let you use Foxit PDFReader, it's enable to paste and copy texts from
PDF files simply:

Foxit PDF Reader v1.2 Build 0114 - 862 KB
for Windows 98/ME/2000/XP/2003
Foxit PDF Reader is a free reader for PDF (eBook) documents. You can
view and print PDF documents with it.
Foxit PDF Reader is small (the download size less than 1MB), so you can
download it quickly. It doesn't need any lengthy installation, so you
can start to run it as soon as you can download it.
And it starts up immediately, so you don't need to wait the annoying
"Welcome" screen to disappear.
Foxit PDF Reader is extreamly easy to use, just double click it to
start and then click open button to open your PDF document. If you want
to print, click on "Print" button. If you want to setup the page layout
for printing, select "Print Setup" from "File" menu.
Foxit PDF Reader supports Chinese/Japanese/Korean character sets, but
you will need to download an additional support package named
"FPDFCJK.BIN". It should be placed in your Foxit PDF Reader folder.
Foxit PDF Reader is provided by Foxit Software Company for free
non-commercial use.

You can use a free PDF viewer (not foxit, can't remem, ber the name but
shouldn't be hard to find). In it you can edit pdf but not save, but you can
print the edited pdf to one of the free virtual pdf printers.

One option is to complain to the people who made the PDF. Newer
versions allow you to enter the data and save the form with changes.
See the IRS forms for example.

If you can't get fillable forms, install a postscript printer. You
don't have to really have one. Set it up to print to file. Fill in the
PDF, print to the postscript printer to create the .ps file, and
convert it to PDF using Ghostscript and GSView or Ghostscript and
MakePDF.

Most fax back PDF forms are not editable even with the full version of
Acrobat because they use security options and you won't know the
passwords. Too, they usually require you to sign the hard copy before
you fax it back.

Hope this helps,

Joe

It all depends on the PDF form and how it was created.

For example, if you download the IRS TAX forms in PDF format, you can edit the fields and
then save a copy of the PDF file with the data you have entered using the Adobe Reader.

If someone takes a form and scans the form into PDF format then its is a grapgic file
embedded in the PDF file and even the use of Adobe Acrobat won't be able to edit the form.

To create a PDF Form, it has to be designed a created to be able have the fields edited in
the first place

Note that Adobe bought FormFlow Filler and is integrating it into their product lines.

Howard's right. I did some of my taxes using such PDF forms, because
the IRS was out of the printed forms when I called. The "form
filling" function worked like a charm.

This feature is enabled in the free Acrobat Reader v. 6 or later. It
was not available in v. 5.0. Not sure whether it was first added in
a 5.x version later than 5.0.

C'ya.
