duplicate files ... deleting

I am utilizing System Mechanic 5 Professional by iolo ... I have searched for
duplicate files to help free up drive space ... many windows-related files
turn up, each located in 2 different directories ... one example is SP2.CAB
which is located in both C:\WINDOWS\Driver Cache\i386\ as well as
C:\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386\

can one or both be deleted? ... is there a general rule of thumb?

You need to be VERY careful when removing duplicate files unless you have
created them personally.. some files NEED to be in duplicate folders..

Leave them alone !

They are used by the OS and should NOT be touched.

General rule of thumb, don't mess with it for system files. Get a
larger hard drive.

Yes there is a general rule of thumb. Dont mess with dupes that are
related to your OS or applications that you've installed. Dont mess with
dupes that are located in Windows
and Program File Folders.
