Dual CPU - Windows 2000 server sees 4 CPU's!

Hi,

I have a Pentium Xeon server with 2 CPU's in it and I
recently installed windows 2000 server on it. Windows
reports in the task manager that there are 4 CPU's even
thought there are only two. The weird thing is the cpu
usage screen shows different results for the "4" listed
cpu's.

The CPU is the 2.4 pentium Xeon.

Is my install ok?

Yes just fine. What you are seeing is the Xeon effect. It makes
programs that can support multiple processors think it has an extra
processor per actual processor. MOST Windows programs DO NOT support
multiple processors! That means that they will not even see the real 2
let alone 4! For programs that do however they will be flying!
Seti comes to mind as one that does support multiple processors, the
CLI version NOT the screen saver one.
