Driver Updates for AMD and C-Media

I can't get two driver updates to install successfully -
the AMD driver update 12/17/02, and the C-Media update
2/20/04. Windows Update says I need them, but when I
install them, at the end I get an installation failed
message. I have already installed SP1 and all critical
updates. Any suggestions?

Do you have an AMD processor? Do you have onboard sound (C-Media)? In
any case, it is not a good idea to install drivers found on Windows
Update. You should always get drivers from the device mftr.'s website.
If your computer is working well, leave things alone. So ignore the
driver updates on Windows Update.

Please state why you need them? What is not working that you think you
need them?
