I see Andrew has his dosages mixed up again. Life in the meat products
industry just isn't exciting enough I guess.

Pool - Apparently the Polaroid camera had a flawed uninstall routine. Do:

Start>Run>services.msc [enter]

Scroll down until you find the Polaroid service. Double-click it to get it's
Properties. If it is running (doubtful), stop it. Now use the drop-down box
to Disable it.

Next do:

Start>Run>msconfig [enter]

Look on the Startup tab for anything connected with Polaroid. If you find
anything, uncheck the box next to its name, Apply and OK out. You don't
need to restart immediately, but the next time you do you'll get a dialog
saying you've used the Utility. Just tick the box that says in effect,
"don't bother me about this again".

Hi Malke

I tried what you told me and i didn't find anything related to polaroid
under services and msconfig.Any other idea. Also lastnight when i was
disconnecting my dial up connection the computer froze and i had to
reboot. After i rebooted the windows xp scan for errors that appear before you
get in windows gave me i have errors in some files but it was quick for me to
read which files were these. Then i tried to connect back to the internet
through the shortcut connection i have on the desktop,it didn't open as if
their was nth i was clicking on.So i had to create another dial up connection
to use.Any idea what might have caused it.Thank you again for your help.

I would love to help you, but without seeing the machine I don't believe I
can. It sounds like there is far more wrong than simply a service running
that shouldn't be. Take the machine to a professional computer repair shop
(not your local version of BigStoreUSA) and have someone skilled look at
it. I'm sorry I was unable to help you, but I do think your problems
require hands-on examination of the machine.

Hi Malke

My computer freeze sometimes when i get disconnected from the internet.I
use a dial up connection.I checked the event viewer to see what is causing
the computer to freeze i only found an error and warning under system. The
error is about the polaroid cam which you already know about and the other
warning is about the intel(R) adapter PRO/100 VE which comes with the
motherboard.

Source:E100B
Category:None
Type:Warning
Event ID:4
User: N/A
Description:Adapter intel(R) PRO/100VE network connection:Adapter link down

After i disabled it from properties and tried to get connected to the
internet using my dial up connection that dialog box which opens when it's
dialing the number gave me opening port then it froze. So i enabled back the
intel adapter.I'm frustrated and i don't know what to do to fix this
problem.I would very much appreciate if you could tell me how to fix it.Thank
you for your help.

It sounds like possibly motherboard issues. I really can't suggest anything
further than I already did. Unless you have a collection of computers,
motherboards, testing equipment, and a high level of computer skill, take
the machine to someone who does.

I understand that this is not what you want to hear, but it is what I think
is the best solution for you in this case.
