Windows XP (Home) SP2; All Updates I believe (47) + 5 Remove and
Re-install.
Hi,
I've recently performed a system 'upgrade' XPSP2 to XPSP2, that's what
windows called it. I did not lose any files/settings or data. During
the upgrade Windows asked for a driver for Acronis True Image and would
not extract it from the Acronis CD (or I could not get it to). The
Upgrade completed and naturally ATI would not work. I tried installing
over and that did not work, and gave 2 instances of ATI in Add/Remove
Programs. A remove and then re-install, cleared everything up. So far
so good.
Eons ago I was a Netscape fan, all the way to Communicator. They lost me
with Sea Monkey. I've been reading so much about Firefox I thought I'd
try it. I downloaded Firefox 3.0 Beta 4.exe, when I attempted to install
to C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Desktop\Downloads\Firefox Setup
3.0 Beta 4.exe, I received an error dialog with a big red/white button
on the left - "Firefox Setup 3.0 Beta 4.exe is not a valid Win32
Application. Prior to the installation try, I ran a Windows Tune-Up
utility, 1-Click Maintenance and also Iobit.Com's Advanced Windows Care
V2 Personal. I had disabled all startup programs in msconfig except
Windows Live OneCare. Any help to install Firefox is appreciated.
Thank you
Re-install.
