Download freezes, doesn't complete

The download freezes up when it gets to "creating
shortcuts" a little over half way thru the download.
I've tried twice. The first time I got an error message
and it would not download at all, the second try and I
got the freeze above. Any ideas on how to get it to
install on my computer?

I have no other programs running. The computer is new
factory installed only programs.

Hi,
If the machine is brand new, let's go to http://update.microsoft.com , and
get the latest critical updates. Make sure firewall is turned on. Check to
see if your pc has Sun Java and that the version is at least 1.4.2_08. If
you have earlier versions, please update it, and remove the older versions.
Do you have a current, up to date AntiVirus installed? (hint: those 30/60
trial versions don't cut it when you have an investment to protect)

Meanwhile, after you do the above, let's start with a fresh download of the
product.
