Downgrade From XP to 98

Hi,
Without going into details as to Why, I have to downgrade my
laptop from Xp to Windows 98. My problem is that the current file
system is NTFS and i DO NOT have a FLOPPY drive in my laptop. Is there
a way I can accomplish this? If so, kindly let me know step by step
process. I'd highly apprecaite it.

You would need to reformat your drive and install
Windows 98 completely from scratch.

1. Delete the existing Windows XP partition.
2. Create a new partition.
3. Format the new partition FAT32.
4. Install your desired Operating System

Thanks Carey,
Actually I have formatted the hard drive to
FAT using Windows XP cd. Once the fomattng was done, right before it
was start copying XP files, I took the cd out and inserted Windows 98
cd and rebooted the system. Now when the machines starts it says
"Remove Disks or other media Press any key to restart" I have no media
inserted and no cds are in the rom. When i click anykey it gives me the
same message. Please let me know what I need to do to get the
installation done. Thank you in advance.

If you formatted the hard drive (somehow) you needed to SYS it to Windows 98
DOS as well and copy the Windows 98 installation files to the drive. Then
boot from the drive and install Windows 98.

That is because you pointed out you have no floppy drive.

There are other ways - such as creating a bootable CD (Windows 98 DOS) that
has the install files on it..
