double tray icon

Hello.
All of a sudden a second MSAS icon appeared in my system tray: I left it
there for now, but I'm wondering if I should "shutdown" one of them from the
right-click menu.

Dave - is this a Tablet PC? This seems to affect most if not all Tablet
users, it seems to affect users running these type of laptops/computers.

If you mouse over it, it may go away.

Have you been running VNC as a host, with an active session? (Or, as Andre
mentions--is this a Tablet PC?)

I have seen three MSAS icons on the taskbar at the same time. As you say
passing the mouse over them causes two to disappear. Mine is not a Tablet
PC and I haven't been running VNC as a host.

I know this can be seen by many people. I tend to view it as a performance
issue--i.e. there some issue of load on the machine or perhaps a performance
issue with Microsoft Antispyware which creates this appearance at times, but
I don't have a clear picture of what is happening.

quicker any problems can be ironed out

I've had that too, but when I ran the mouse over them, one would go away.
I used to have the same thing with Pest Patrol after I did an update.
Nothing to worry about, but it'd be nice is someone can figure it out.
