Defender icon

I have just downloaded the windows defender. With the MSAS I had the bullseye
icon in my system tray which let me know that it was active. With the
Defender there is no icon, so how do I know it is active. Should there be an
icon in my system tray, if so,how do I get it there. Not sure I like this
version yet. Seems a bit complicated, but I suppose I will get used to it.

Tools, Options, scroll down to Real-time protection options--at the very
bottom of that section are radio buttons to control the icon display.

Remember to click on save at the bottom to save the changes.

(and, if you try these instructions and find those buttons don't exist, you
are on an older build--re-download from www.microsoft.com, and they'll be
there.)

Thank you Bill, problem solved. MSAS used to say 'MSAS Active' when the
pointer was on it but Defender doesn't. Although it does have a white tick on
a green circle so I presume that is saying that it is active. Thanks for your
help.

Thanks--I don't know the meanings of the various icon appearances
yet--haven't seen them long enough yet.
