Domain Problems

I knew you were going to say that about the missing "." but in the host text
box where i want to write www.somename.co.uk, it won't let me add the "."

Right, because if you did that it would terminate the name
after the www.

The box will append the domain name onto the machine
A-host record short name you type.

but
i guess in that host text box i just add www and then it will add it to
somename.co.uk(parent domain) to become www.somename.co.uk. I will give it a
try and let you know.

Yes.

And it has to work if the DNS server is answering for the
zone in general.

If it doesn't work then you didn't configure it correctly (OR
the DNS server isn't working right in general.)

right i deleted the www folder as you said and create the simple A record in
my main zone, i gave the
record an IP address and added the www to the file. I refresh the server as
you said, and then the server
Recreated the www folder and banged in A record i created, for some very
strange reason. I tried my site
but still doesnt work. Why would the server want to recreate that folder?
