Internal Website not recognized

Cook

I have a subdomain I can't access from my internal
network but I can access it on the outside coming in. I
can get to the domain fine and when we click on the
button to go to the other website. I get page not
found. The only thing I can think of is it does not
begin with the domain name. I have a window 2000
server.

Hi Cook,

Not much specifics here so will be difficult to tell you a solution. But my guess based on what
you wrote is that there is not name resoltion internally for the web site. You will need to make
an entry in your DNS for the internal web site. All you need to do in DNS is to create a new host
(A) record with www. and the IP of the web site. Then internal clients should be able to find it as
well.

The reason you can access it from outside is that external DNS servers know how to resolve
the IP address. Now all you need ot do is make an entry on your internal DNS for that same
web site. There are resources on the Internet on how to do that if you need assistance. Without
specifics there is no way I can tell you what you need to to.

Hope this helps,
Gary
