Does this work

I had counterspy i bought and i liked but my subscription
ran out and i saw this beta so i downloaded it to try. it
pleased me that except for the name it looked just like
counterspy. but since i've been using it every time it
does a scan it tells me that it found no spyware threats
at all. which is odd since my wife plays a lot of online
games that are full of spyware. so i install other spyware
and i run the new spyware after the microsoft beta. the
beta says i've no spyware on my p.c. but the other each
time comes up with a list of them. what gives does
microsoft just allow certain spyware to get by on purpose
or does it just don't work at all

If the other programs are finding cookies, then this is
to be expected since the current release doesn't deal
with cookies. Cookies are data files, not software.
Some products list them as spyware cookies, but this is
misleading since no software on your system can use them,
only the host domain that stored the cookie on your
system can use them. Many times companies try to make
their product look better then the others on the market
and they purposely try to mislead the general public who
aren't as well informed as others.

There's always been a debate if antispyware apps should
deal with cookies since cookies aren't really a security
issue. They in fact are a privacy issue.

You can take control of cookie handling by setting IE to
block cookies that store personally identifable
information. I have a firewall that blocks thrid-party
cookies by default. Third-party cookies are the most
prevalent tracking cookies out there.

A good place to find out about cookies, security, and
privacy is eff.org. The people that run this site are
the real experts when it comes to digital privacy and
security. They are also consumer advocates, so they know
what they are talking about.
