Do you have to install

P

Paul

Windows Rights Management
Services, and RMUsetup.exe, before you install IE 7??

I dont even know what they do !

And I've never actually used them (wouldnt know how to if I tried anyway)

What I'm going to do (if I can) is slipstream IE 7, WMP 11, (and updates),
with XP SP3, once it comes out.

And if I need the above 2 files before I install IE 7, what are the
switches?? Do they have any?

If I dont need these 2 files to use IE 7, then I'll just slipstream IE 7
with the IE 7 updates, WMP and SP3.

Any info appreciated

Thanx

I'm not sure you'll be able to Slipstream IE7, Paul.

Required reading IMHO before installing IE7:

Sandi's Installation Tips <= FOLLOW THESE TIPS TO THE LETTER!

And I strongly recommend using
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx as the
installation source, not Automatic/Windows Update.

Tip: Save the installer to your desktop, do not Run it.

Make *certain* that you check in at Windows Update immediately after
installing IE7 and install any critical updates offered. If Optional
Updates category offers Root Certificates update, I recommend installing it
to take full advantage of IE7's additional security.

Hmm I've got XP not Vista.

It looks like Nlite can integrate IE 7 ?

I've got the full install of IE 7, so dont need the WU site

This is the Non-WGA version of IE 7, I've got not the one that needs to be
activated / checked, before you install it.

So, anyway, do you HAVE to install RMU and the other file, just to install
IE 7?? Do you have an option?

Just try it.

I did. I did an ISO last night, and installed it on the spare hdd

And it worked. This is without RMU and
the other file.

Since these files dont work in Nlite when I add them anyway (unless they've
switches).

Managed to slipstream IE 7 and WMP 11 (with their updates, and it installed
fine !

Just haveta wait for SP3 to arrive, then I'll add that and reinstall

Slipstreamed
