Do Not Deliver Before

I have had varying luck with the Do Not Deliver Before option.
I am using Outlook 2003 on Exchange 2003.
Sometimes it appears I need to have my Outlook client open for a 'future'
message to be delivered and sometimes it works as I would presume it
should...namely, when I'm not around!

I would like this to happen with meeting requests as well.

If anyone has any solutions or good ideas I would certainly appreciate any
and all comments.

I see you say that sometimes your "Do not deliver before" message is
delivered when you are NOT around. We'll i am haveing trouble sending those
messages as outlook do not want to deliver the message if outlook is not
open. If i send the message it obviously stays in the outbox and if i exit
outlook it says that they are still messages in the outbox and ask me if i
want to send it and i say no.The message then stays in the outbox until the
next time i open outlook and then it only leaves where it should've left
while outlook was close. Any ideas while mine won't leave?

This is my dilema as well as your's then.
I do not know why. I would think it should but obviously it does not.

Where have you set your delivery location? It must be the Exchange server
and not a PST if you want this to work.

I am configured on an Exchange Server.
My mail is delivered to my server mailbox/Inbox and NOT my PST Inbox.

I still get issue with items not sending if i'm not logged on to Outlook.

I just tested it and it did NOT work.
I created the messate...set the option to send today at 3:31PM and at 3:34
nothing had been received.
When I went back into Outlook, the message was still in my Outbox waiting to
send.
Is there a setting on the server that could be causing this to NOT send?

I have finally found the answer to this dilema.
It has to do with the Cached Exchange Mode. This is a wonderful magical
thing but in some cases it can cause certain issues.
This is the case here and is explained in full in the Knowledge Base article
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/918824
When in Cached Exchange Mode a future message is stored in the Offline
Folder (.OST). This is synchronized at a set time period and unless Outlook
is open this does not happen.
In Online Mode the message is sent directly to the server and will be
processed at the 'future' time as set by the user.
