Do both KB824146 and KB823980 need to be installed?

In order to have complete protection against the
Blaster/Welchia/etc. viruses? Also, is it well reported
that any time you do a windows update you need to
reinstall KB823980? Are we going to have to do it with
KB824146 also?

Derrick;
You must have KB824146 which supercedes KB823980.
So there is no need to install the older patch.
However it is important to install KB824146 NOW.

I don't know about "well reported", some computers have that problem,
but not all.
There are fixes for this problem also.
There is no requirement to install any update more than once as long
as a reinstall or uninstall is not performed.

Install ALL Critical Updates IMMEDIATELY.
Start/All Programs/Windows Update

Install an antivirus application
