DLL Error Messages

When I start this computer I get a series of error messages. The first ones
says "DLL Load Problem - Interface Mismatch". When I clear this by clicking
OK, there follows 22 separate dll error messsages with varying satements or
questions, none of which I understand. They talk about "associate",
"disassociate", "Windows Media", "Secure Music", "Quick Play".

It does not appear that these messages are causing any harm or problem but
they are a "pain" to OK or X out every time I boot up just to clear my
desktop. Does anyone have any suggestions and/or explanations for solving
this problem? THANKS!

BWT, I do not use any programs that might be called Windows Media, Secure
Music or Quick Play.

Can you provide us with some more specific information, especially the
names of the .DLL files involved. The complete verbatim text of the
error message(s) would be best.

I suspect that your computer is infested with some sort of malware
(virus, trojan, spyware, etc) and that may be the underlying cause.
Go to http://housecall.trendmicro.com and do the free online scan of
your computer.

Good luck

Ron,
Thanks for the response! I am sending you an email listing all of the DLL
Error messages exactly as they appear. I used cut/paste to put them together
and save them to a separate document. Unable to use cut/paste on this reply.
I attempted to run the TrendMicro scan but kept getting some message that
required files were unable to download properly so gave up the attempt.

I found one reported instance on the web of your problem where the fix
was to get rid of Music Match Jukebox, or at least to remove it from
the startup configuration.

Trend Micro has apparently very recently made some major changes to
their Housecall program and yesterday I also encountered problems in
getting it to run.

Here are some additional free online scanners that you could try:

Kaspersky Online Scanner http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner
Panda ActiveScan http://www.pandasoftware.com/activescan
WindowSecurity.com TrojanScan http://windowssecurity.com/trojanscan

Good luck
