DLL Error Messages - Help!

When I boot my computer I get a series of DLL Error Messages. The first one
says "DLL Load Problem - Interface Mismatch". When I clear this one with an
OK or bt Xing it out there follows a seriews of 22 different error messages.
They mention "associate", "association" , "disassociate", "reassociate",
"associate all", "WindowsMedia", "Quick Play", "Secure Music", "Reclaim
Option".....none of which mean a thing to me. I don't use nor have I
knowingly installed any prorams with names mentioned.

So far it does not appear that these messages are causing me any harm. They
are however a pain in the neck since I must clear them manually each time I
boot in order to clear my desktop.

Does anyone have any suggestions, help, etc.?? THANK!

Thank you for the suggestion! I used 'msconfig' and did some editing in the
Startup file. However, I still have the problem. Any other suggestions?
Would it help if I provided exact descriptioms/wording of the error messages?

I think that's an application loading on the startup causing this problem.
To diagnose problem use the MSCONFIG Tool.

I just found a site which talks about my EXACT problem!
http://www,experts-exchange.com/Operating_systems/Win98/Q_2029391.html

The only problem is that they want $9.95/month to subscribe. I find it hard
to believe that this DLL Error Message problem is unknown to all the smart
people who frequent this Microsoft Forum. So far I have runs scads of
spyware, run RegSeeker, sleaned the resistry of all references to programs
mentioned in these error messages, reinstalled an updated version of Windows
Media Player.

Does anyone have any other ideas??

I really hate the Experts-Exchange site, but if you scroll all the way
down the page you'll see the answer. You don't need to subscribe.

THANK YOU! You can't know how many people I have asked about this and how
many posts I have made asking for help. The answer was right there in front
of me and you're the only one who saw it. I had to search for the offending
programs because they were not in the obvious places however I was able to
send all but one of them to Recycle and that took care of the error messages.

Now if you only help me with getting my System Restore and my CD-ROM drive
to work again.
