My network setup is as follows:
I have a DLink 614+ router which connects my network to the internet
provided by Time Warner.
My desktop computer is running a wired connection to the router and is
running Windows XP Home. There are user accounts.
My laptop computer is running a wireless connection with a DLink 650
Cardbus adapter and is running Windows 98.
I ran the network setup wizard on the XP machine, answering the
question of how I connected to the internet by saying I connect
through a device that is NOT on this machine (i.e., the router), then
create the network setup disk, which I then run on the Windows 98
machine.
Both machines can access the internet. Both machines can ping the
router. However, neither machine can see the other machine. I can't
ping between either machine, much less share files or devices. Any
thoughts on what I can check out to make this work?
Thanks!
