Distorted video

I think my video card is going out. I can't play any of my games. (just 3 of
them since the rest are in storage)
It's kinda strange when my computer is booting up and the screen is black
with the windows XP logo in the middle and the little loading bar is moving
left to right.
There are little square boxes showing in the Windows XP logo. Once the
computer completes booting and goes to my desktop everything looks ok. DVD
movies play fine, but when I start a game the screen is distorted badly. It's
looks kind of like a funnel and everything is flashing toward the center of
the screen. I have the most recent drivers for my card.
When I do a dxdiag direct3d test 7 looks ok but when I do test 8 and test 9
there are verticle lines going through about 1/2 of the direct X logo box as
it is spinning on the screen. I have direct X 9.C installed which I think is
the most recent.
When I do a PC Doctor test of my video card it says that my video memory
failed. Do you guys think part of my 256 ram of memory on my video card has
burned up or something to that effect?
Correct me if I'm wrong but when my computer is booting and I get those
distorted little boxes on the windows XP logo. My video card hasn't even
started to operate yet. Isn't the computer operating under DOS when it first
starts the booting process since the screen is black? Any suggestion??
I have a Radeon 9800 Pro 256 ram.

Hi,

Try another video card, and if you still have those issues, it
could indicate that your BIOS or AGP slot are at fault.
