diskette drive 0 seek failure

i tried 2 put in my moms old hard drive(as secondary) for more memor
urn onit says diskette drive 0 seek failure so i take the the har
drive out out turn it on but it stills says diskette drive 0 see
failure i cant do anything

Silly Question, but have you changed the Jumper Settings? so it reads SLAVE,
on the HDD

Did you remove the _floppy_ cable while working on the computer ?
(I take it that is what "diskette" means - floppy...)
Perhaps you plugged the floppy cable in backwards. Is the
floppy light permanently turned on ? That could be a sign the
cable is reversed.

Maybe you need to disable the BIOS option that forces a floppy drive sync.
Is it possible it was enabled my accident?
