Disk Quotas

Hi,

I would like to limit the storage our users have in their individual home
folders. Currently we have 1 datastore with over 100 users home folders.
The datastore resides on c:\ with 5GB remaining. Currently there is
nothing stopping a user filling up the 5GB on the server.

I've looked at MS Article 183322. I want to limit each folder in the
datastore to 150MB
thanks, PL2

A good way to limit storage usage is to create a disk partition and then
activate the disk quota. One the given partition you create users' home
folders and by activating disk quotas, users won't be able to put more data
then what you defined. Otherwise you can simply activate disk quota on the
selected HDD but remember that the quota will be applied to all folders on
the selected HDD. And don't forget: NTFS!

Hi,

I didn't realise disk quotas applied to all folders. Currently the
datastore is on our exchange server. C:\ is used for the data store and
certain program files
d:\ is used for Exchange. I guess this is something that should have been
put in place before and the datastore should not be on the exchange server
(do you agree? )

thanks PL
