Disk Cleanup fails

I am running Win 2000 Adv Server and having problem when
running "disk cleanup" which used to work. I access disk
cleanup by clicking on My Computer and right click on disk
C: I then click on Properties and then click Disk Cleanup.

Disk Cleanup starts with the message "Disk Cleanup is
calculating how much space you will be able to free on
C:" Below this message is a bar which shows 4 blue boxes
on the scale filled in. Below this it says "Scanning:
Compress Old files".

At this point the process hangs and it never completes.
It stays in this state until I click on cancel.

Please advise any assistance.

Regards,
Joseph

This maybe due to lots of files and that you havent run disk clean up for a long time. You can try to delete all your tempoary files, cache before running to speed up the process.
