Disgusting "Tap to click" feature

I'm using a Dell Inspiron laptop that has this tap to click feature when
using the touch pad.

Before I used to disable it by clicking on the Synaptics Pointing Device
icon in the tray and unchecking it. Now it does not have that option.

I hate this feature. I tried the mouse properties in my control panel but
cannot find a solution. How do you disable this feature so I can just click
like normal?

Thank you - I tried to trouble shoot and was redirected here.

I think I remember somewhere that if I updated windows it might cause the
device to not work as it usually works.

so isn't that a windows problem!?

Have you asked Dell whether they have published a patch?

No I haven't. I don't know where to look for help. I just want this feature disabled. If I have to get a patch then I guess I will have to go to Dell.
