Disappointing experience with MM2

My first attempt of making a Movie with MM2 wasn't successful

- Capture all DV/AVI movie from the camcorder was ok (+- 11GB of an AVI file)
- Making de clips to.
- Drag all clips to timeline, o
- Set a begin title and the end credits, ok

Now start the problems.

- Start making the movie, but it never ends, always crash; the window of MM2 just disappears.
- Restart MM2 and trying to delete some clips to make de movie shorter lead to the same crash
- I just can’t edit the movie peacefully

I have a 2,6GHz processor, 512MB Ram, 80GB 7200 RPM disk, MM2 fully updated

What can I do?

Thanks in advance

Hi there,

What is the length of your movie on the timeline ?
Howmuch free-space is available on your hard drive ?

First, do this:
(1) Right-click Desktop
(2) Select Properties
(3) Click Settings tab
(4) Click Advanced button
(5) Click Troubleshooting tab
(6) Position the pointer to the third from the left index
(7) "OK" your way back to the Desktop

Second, make certain that all other active tasks are
terminated BEFORE trying to create the movie -- e.g.,
anti-virus programs; screen-saver (choose "none", since
some of them can consume huge amounts of CPU time); along
with anything else that is active on the task bar... just
right-click them and select "exit".

1 - Almost the same of the capture time +- 1 hour (12GB)
2 - 40GB

I will try your suggestions. Meanwhile I read from PapaJohn MM2 site and I see that I can analyse my system memory, during de creation of the movie and search for repeated codec’s

I will try it all.
Thanks
