Disappearing mouse pointer - XP Pro

Hello,

Just installed XP Pro tonight on wife's machine and the mouse pointer
disappears after a few minutes. System reboot required to recover mouse
pointer. Tried two mouses (mice?) a USB and a PS2. Reinstalled mouse
drivers. Still, works a few minutes then pointer disappears and it's time to
reboot. Any experience with this? Got a solution? Thanks for any help.
