Disappearing mouse pointer

Hope this is the right place to ask this question but
does anyone know what the solution is to a disappearing
mouse pointer when switching user in Windows XP? If I
log off my account and start it up again then the pointer
is there as usual but if I change users using fast
switching then when I return to my account the pointer
has disappeared and by moving the mouse around I can see
the various boxes on the page highlight as if the mouse
was there and clicking on a hightlighted box usually
works. After a while of doing this 'blind' the pointer
reappears. Any help would be appreciated.

Not sure if this is possible, but, you may have different
mouse settings for the different users. Does the mouse
work properly if you "open" in that account after
rebooting? If not, look at the Mouse settings.
