disappearing email

After reading my e-mail I X out and return to my inbox, the e-mail that I was
just reading disappears. It is not in my inbox or my deleted e-mail. I do
not know where it goes. I thought that it is to stay in the inbox until I
choose to delete it. Please Help!!

The solution depends on what you're using, Outlook Express, Outlook, OWA,
etc. You should start here:
