Disable Wireless when Docked

M

Mike

Hi all,

Is it possible to disable wireless connections only when the notebook is
docked? Obviously the machine knows when it's docked or not and I want to
save my users the hassle of having to manually disable their wireless
connection once the notebook's docked and running on the wired connection.
Albeit most forget to do this and end up consuming two ip's. This in turn
fills up my DHCP unnecessarily.. and If the wireless is listed first in the
order of preference in network connections advanced settings, when it drops
they lose their sap connection... it would just be a whole lot simpler if I
could disable it when docked. the minute they undock it comes to life again
and away they go.

Regards,
Mike.

Seems like you have DisableDHCPMediaSense enabled. NIC shouldn't
ingnore media changing when you're changing from wireless to wired
connection. Look at
HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters.
