Simple wireless connection

Doug Lowe

I have what's probably a simple "Duh" kind of question.

I've just set up a wireless ap at work for our conference room & tablet PC
users. Got it all properly secured, yada yada.

When the tablet PC is docked, it connects to both the wireless network & the
cabled ethernet that's plugged into the dock. So it has two active
connections to the network.

That's not a problem, is it? Do I need to somehow disable the wireless when
the computer is docked, or is it OK to leave both connections open? The
network connection seems to work fine when the computer is docked.

It is not a problem many portable machines have dual connections
running most of the time, the only way you will find out if it is a
problem is if your comptuer tells you (signs include: blue screen of
death, or IP confliction errors). Unless you encounter a problem,
continue computing.

Enjoy.
