Disable Performance Counters

Could anybody please explain the implecations of setting the value "
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\PerfProc\Performance\Di
sable Performance Counters" to false on a Win2k server.

I am not sure, but some parts of the .NET Framework won't work any
more. For example, the 'System.Process' class is based on Performance
Counters AFAIR, and disabling them will cause exceptions if certain methods
of this class are used.
