Dial out problems

Andy

Hi Everyone,

I am running Windows XP. Recently I stayed in a hotel and their IT staff
made some changes to the system so I can dial out.

Now when I try to dial out to my office I get this message:

Operated Assisted or Manual Dial Up:

Pick up the handset and dial (or ask the operator to dial). Pres OK
immediately after the dialling and then replace the handset.

Then is the phone number

The options are OK or Cancel

When press OK there is dialling tone but it doesn't dial.

I have had a look and the dial up connection is not using connection rules.
Any idea what could be causing this and how can I fix it?

Many thanks.

Hi Andy,
Ask the Hotel IT they will help you, if not what the OS, IE version, the
Connection type ( Static IP, VPN, Wireless, etc...)
Hope this helps

Yo might need to change the phone number in the dial-up connection
dialog box. Hotels have to dial 9 before the number but using a home
phone line, you don't need the 9 before the number.
