DHCP Problems with Linksys Router with a twist.....

This one stumps me. I've got a friend with a cable modem. He plugs
his PC into the cable modem and his computer gets an IP address just
fine and everything works. He unplugs his computer from the cable
modem and plugs it into a wireless router (wired to one of the switch
ports) and his computer will never get a DHCP address. It just gets
stuck on "Aquiring Network Address" and finally comes back with the
limited connectivity error. I can connect another computer to the
wireless router, using the same cable and that computer gets a DHCP
address just fine. Something is causing his computer to not obtain and
address from the wireless router but when plugged directly into the
cable modem, it connects and obtains an address just fine. I have
verified that the card is set to DHCP and have even disabled the
firewall to troubleshoot. Still no luck. Any thoughts??
