Desktop Icon Transparency

HELP.....I need to have my transparent icons back! I have tried EVERYTHING suggested here, from unlocking my Active Desktop to enabling drop shadow in the Appearance box. WHAT MORE CAN I DO
i have windows xp home editio

Hi Siro,
the only thing that I think you could be talking about is hidden files and
folders.If you want to see those icons go to control panel>>click view
tab>>check show hidden files and folders;apply; ok. I hope this is what you
were talking about. If it isn't just reverse the changes. Good Luck. Bob.

The only was i fixed the problem was using System Restore. It causes some inconveniency, but at least my icons are transparent
