Hi Brian,
I tried that and got this message: Cannot delete file: Access is
denied. Make sure the disk is not full or write - protected and that the file
is not currently in use.

What we have here is a failure to communicate. You are
explaining what you've done in terms that don't make
sense as to how computers work, which causes confusion.
So I will start fresh.
Assumption 1 is that you have a cd with photos on it.
Make a new folder on your hard drive, C:\Photos1
Use Windows Explorer, open two instances, one of
which is opened to your hard drive, C:\Photos1 and
the other instance is opened to your cd-rom with
the cd in it. Now drag and drop, just the folders
that you want onto your hard drive, not the one you
want to delete. Another way is to right-click on
the folder you want to copy which is one the cd in
the cd-rom drive and select "copy" from the drop
down menu. Then switch over to the Windows Explorer
which is open to the C:\Photos1 folder. Right-click
inside the Photos1 folder and select "paste". If you
hold down the Ctrl-key you can select several folders
to copy at the same time, just not the one you want to
delete. Paste all of them into the C:\Photos1 folder on
the hard drive. If you want to save that folder you now
want to delete, copy it to a different folder on the drive.
Now use your software for the CD-RW to select the
C:\Photos1 folder from the hard drive, since just the
photos you want are on it, you can just choose that
folder. But if you want other folders, your software
lets you select and add other folders on the hard drive.
Now you take out that cd (assuming you have just one
cd-rom drive) and place a blank cd in the cd-rw drive.
Then choose "burn" from you software (better to set
the burn speed to 8x) and you can choose to make just
one copy, or repeat and burn more copies. Remember to
close any current project on your cd-burning software.
This will be a New Project. There is nothing wrong with
starting over from scratch if you can't figure out how to
undo some choices in a project your are working on now.
Now you will have a cd with all the folders, including
the one you want to delete and 1 or more copies of that
cd with all the folders but the one you want to delete.
If you don't want that folder that you are trying to
delete to exist, break the cd and throw it away. They
only cost 15 to 20 cents a piece. This method avoids you
trying to figure out how to change file and folder
permissions and there is another preventing possibility
for what you want to do that I won't obscure this issue
with. It is easier to change permissions on the hard
drive and delete files and folders if you want later to
get rid of the C:\Photos1 folder you used to burn the cd.
Don't forget to delete it from the Recycle Bin also.
So don't burn any files and folders you later want to
delete. If you do, discard that cd, and burn it again to
how you want it, starting a new burn project if needed.
On the hard drive you can delete folders by right-clicking
and choosing delete. But you have to close any program
that might be using that folder. Like Windows Explorer or
your cd burning software. One clears any permissions
applied to folders by right-clicking on the file or folder
and choosing "Properties" from the drop-down menu. At the
bottom of the Properties windows there is a section named
"Attributes". Make sure that the Read-only and Hidden
boxes are unchecked. If either one is ticked, click inside
the box next to it, which will clear it. Remember to then
click Apply and then OK to save your changes. I think it
is possible that you have to be logged in with Computer-
Administrator rights in order to change the status of the
Attributes. I mean the type of account you have. If it is
just your own computer, you have Admin rights by default.
