DELETING PROGRAM FROM ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS LIST

Guest

I have tried to delete a program from the add/remove programs list under
control panel but I get a message saying that the program cannot be found.
The program is not taking up any disc space. I did delete the program from
programs under "My Computer".

How do I delete the program from the add/remove programs list?

By not uninstalling the program the correct way, you have left an awful lot
on your computer that may cause you problems in the future. What makes you
think that "all" of the program is installed under Programs Files? It isn't.
Programs install files in many different locations and may add many
thousands of registry entries. You just can't delete the main program
folder.

I suggest that you reinstall the program to the same location where it was
previously. Reboot. Then uninstall the program using the correct
methodology.

This is the way to do it by using the registry as per microsoft. You
need to be carefull in that process as any changes made are permanent.
DON'T make a typo etc. (you will be taken to the MS knowledge base when
you use that URL. It's a great place to sort out problems and has many
thousands of q's and answers. Good luck! Ali_mac

actually the post I gave you was a very old one still on the MS
knowledge base.
First look in control panel and find a prog that's still there and not
wanted A zero size usually.
click start then run. type regedit to open the registry editor. select
Hkey_local machine. Click software. .Click Microsoft (a big scroll
down). Click windows. Click current version. Click "uninstall" Scroll
down until you find that name from control panel add/remove progs.
Highlite the name itself and press delete on the keyboard.
Close Control panel if its still open, and then reopen control panel
add remove progs to find the annoying name is gone. Good luck ali_mac
