Deleting mails from server

Hello everyone

'm using PopTray for previewing email on pop3 accounts that I own.
But...some sucker (or is it maybe because of this virus thing going around)
bombed me. There is 5000+ mails on my pop account. It takes shitload of time to
read headers in PopTray and such programs.

Iwant to delete
those messages. Is there any application which could do this, without
downloading headers? I mean...just put info about pop server, password and then
Hasta la vista messages?

Please, this is urgent!
I did some search, but those were old applications, and links were broken.

Mailwasher from http://www.mailwasher.net/

It also does a superb job on its main task of controlling spam.

Lighten up, you anal retentive freeware police are starting to get on

look at nonags.com -E-Mail Misc. Tools - Freeware - MailBOX Enterminator
near the bottom of the page.
Quotes from the page
"MailBOX Exterminator is an easy to use utility which will log into a POP3
mailbox stored on your ISP's server and quickly delete all email messages.
This utility is handy if your mailbox has been the subject of a bulk email
SPAM."

This newsgroup is about sheer freeware. Shareware products are just
OT here, however useful their authors claim them to be.

You are extremely correct. I use that too. No problem so far.

It is unfortunate that "Yes" will never concur with "No".

I know it's a good spam filter but can it do this without downloading
the headers as the OP requested?

Last time I used Mailwasher to clean out a spam flooded
mail account it took about 45 minutes downloading headers!

I am amazes how much span is being generated. My isp had a filter that I
have him put on my mail and do to a mistake on setup, they were putting the
junk into a directory under my account but one I never knew was there
instead of just killing it.

There were 930 spams there from just 6 weeks. Only about 3 - 4 a week slip
through their filter and I had no idea spam had gotten so bad.

Dude, Mailwasher is doing the same thing as PopTray. It previews messages on
server, and deletes chosen ones. I don't need to download or see any headers.
Simply, some program with command "delete all sons of bitches"

Anyone tried Mail Box despatcher? http://www.anti-spam-tools.com/

Another simple way seems to be to use that tiny PopCorn mail to delete off
server the spams in an avalanche.

Mailwasher free is only good for one mail account isn't it?

RTFFAQ, doofus. Pick either one you want and read the damn FAQ and it
will explain, even to you, what is/is not considered 'freeware' in
this group. If that doesn't set right with, well, you can always take
your ball and go play in another NG................ or start you own!

I don't know if I understand you correctly; but what I do is to set
Mailwasher to automatically delete all unwanted mails in my
blacklist/filter list, including those with wildcards. Go to Tools, Options,
Blacklist & Friendlist, Options, and check the the "Auto-delete blacklisted
messages" box.

I used to received quite a good number of spams daily before but not anymore
now. If there are new ones, I just set Mailwasher to blacklist the entire
domain of the senders' address for future auto-deletion. Though I am still
using dial-up connection, I am fairly satisfied that Mailwasher takes only a
few seconds ( hopefully that is not an over-statement), or may be a couple
of minutes to scan my mails.

Hi !

This isn't an application but a web-site http://www.mail2web.com

Enter your user name / server name / password and it will pull the emails
from your box. If I'm not mistaken, there is a DELETE ALL button. That ought
to clear your inbox right quick!

I don't believe trying to help anyone is OT anywhere; if it is here due to
some political correctness I, and I think a lot of other subscribers, are
in the wrong place.

It is up to the poster to decide what to use - or will you allow ONLY
freeware on *your* computer?

Anyone who knows of good freeware will say so, but should there chance to
be none, should we all sit mumchance while someone twists in the breeze?

Or will it just be you?
