DC Deployment Question

J

Jeff

I am deploying a new DC for our domain that will be installed at a remote
site. The install and DCPROMO are done and the DC is up and running
properly. Replication is configured and verified. Now, to get the DC to
the remote site I am shipping it. During the time that the DC is in
transit, I am getting KCC errors because the DC is considered down. Is
there a way to suppress the KCC checks temporarily while the DC is on its
way to the remote site?

Thanks,

Jeff

The KCC can be disabled but I would suggest that you ignore the error for
now until the server comes back online. The KCC will run every 15 mins to
check the replication topology so that replication continues to work in case
a server goes down. Since you know why the error is occurring I don't think
that you should be concerned at this time. If it continues to occur after
the server is online then you may have a problem that needs to be addressed.
