Database format

I created a database from Access's canned formats, a CD
collection. I just tried to open it and I get this error
message "The ADP file is not in the correct format for a
Microsoft Access Project". The file is physically on my
hard drive but the last time I used it my computer saved
it as a .WDB file. How can I get it to the proper format
to use it? I put many hours in entering data and now I
can not open it.

HELP!
Thanks

That's the file extension for a Microsoft Works database. I don't think
Access can save a file in that format, but it would be possible to exchange
data between the two.

Is it possible that only the file extension was changed and not the file
format?
