Help! My computer has started informing of only 3 days left to activation
because of changes made to my system - this happens every time I switch on
the computer these days!

I have only added a PCI USB card two weeks ago, and still I'm being asked to
re-activate! Has anyone any suggestions??

Thanks

no need to worry about re-activation. that sometimes happens when you
change/add hardware.

just go on and reactivate.

if you can't activate over the net, the worst would be, that you will have
to call a toll free number for the reactivation.

hope this helps.

regards!

I am not worried about re-activation - it's just the bl**** inconvenience of
having to do it every day at switch (and sometimes more than once a day!) -
This does suggest there is a fault somewhere, wouldn't you think!

You get a crack or patch installed and you never need to activate
again. If you have bought the program and has the original CD it is not
illegal to do so.

i get what you mean now...you activate once after the hardware change and
yet you are asked to do so at least once a day.

hoping that the MVPs here would have good advice for you.

thanks for clearing that up.

Courtesy MVP Rick Rogers:

Boot into safe mode. Click start/run, type "regsvr32 regwizc.dll"
(without the quotes) and
click "ok". Then do the same for "regsvr32 licdll.dll". You should get
a successful message for both and it should resolve the error message.
If not, then try these steps:

Start the computer in Safe mode by hitting F8 at startup. Click
start/run, type regedit and click ok. Expand the branches in the left
pane by clicking the plus (+) signs to reach these keys:

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Cryptography\Providers
HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-20\Software\Microsoft\Cryptography\Providers

Click on the folder representing each key and delete them one at a time.
You may want to create a backup before doing so by clicking file/export
and saving a copy to the desktop. If there is a problem after deleting,
you can put the key back by double-clicking it. If there is no problem,
you can delete the key later. When finished, restart the system
normally after closing the registry editor.
