Customize Temporary Internet Files location

Is it possible to have the temporary internet files from a certain site
be stored in a different folder from the default Temporary Internet
Files folder? I would like to have any temporary files from our
Intranet site be stored in a different folder so that they aren't scan
by our Antivirus application. The performance degradation of having
these files scanned is very noticeable to our end-users compared to
when they disable scanning. We trust that our internal Intranet site is
"clean" as we are already performing server based scanning.

Since a solution hasn't been posted, I thought I'd throw out
this suggestion. Why not simply change the Internet Explorer
settings so the Temporary Internet Files folder is emptied when
the browser is closed? You haven't given any info about your
networking environment but if you're running an Active
Directory domain, this is a change that can be rolled out to
your systems through Group Policy. If it's a workgroup
environment, you can make the changes on each computer. You
might also consider changing the amount of disk space allocated
to the Temporary Internet Files.
