Creating Shares on a SAN drive in Server 2003 Cluster

K

Kathie

We have a 2 node cluster of Server 2003 and have created
shares on a drive that is on our SAN. When I shut down one
server and the drives fail over to the second server, it
loses the share rights I have created in the SAN drive. Is
there a fix for this?

Have you created the file share using explorer or using cluster
administrator tool or cluster.exe ?

If you have not used cluster administrator tool or cluster.exe your file
share is in not a valid resource for cluster and can give unexpected
behavior.

See creating a "File Share resource type" on a cluster.
