Cpu or drive noise

On occasion, my cpu is making this loud noise, its sounds like a drive, but
it comes and goes only when I either open a new program or when an
application is loading. But its not all the time. What is it? What can I
do to fix it?

What is it? only you can hear it.
If its cpu it could be the fan / vibration / loose
If its hd, I hope you have backups

CPU's dont make noise...........but the cooling fan that sits on top of it
does.
If the noise is there when you open a program or loading an application
chances are it is your Hard drive.......time to buy a new one.
