Core2Duo performance in Task Manager

I'n running a program (racing sim GTL) optimized to run on one core, why does
the Task Manager Performance display show the 'CPU Usage' to be identical (at
around 50%) in both level meters at around 50%, whereas the 'CPU Usage
History' is at 100% for one core and next to nothing for the other, as I'id
expect?

The level meter shows the combined total for both cores, so with one
core running at 100% and the other at 0%, 50% is the correct value for
total processor usage. The level meter is a single bar with a split which
makes it look like two bars, same as the PF Usage meter below it.
